the blood of my family: a new massacre at Beit Hanoun – دم أهلى: مجزرة بيت حانون

Israel shelled a few homes in Beit Hanoun today, killing 18 Palestinians as they slept in their beds. Eight of those were children, and 6 were women. 13 were members of the same family. It also injured 55 in the process.
If this is not organized State terrorism, I don’t know what is. If this is not a war crime, I don’t know what is.
Over the past 7 days, approximately 60 people have been killed in Israel’s new attacks against the Palestinians. Worldwide condemnation is now being faintly heard – from Moscow to Qatar to the UN. But we heard them all before, in Jenin, in Beit Lahya, Qana, and the list keeps growing. The massacres continue with the same excuses given – same ‘regret’, same ‘investigations’, same ‘not targetting civilians’. Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni ‘expressed regret’ for the deaths, saying that “Israel did not set out to harm innocent civilians”. Really? No, as always it did not target civilians. It must be our imagination. Having said that, Levni also said the attacks will continue. What a joke!! According to Israeli sources:
it is unclear whether the incident was caused by a technical or human error. The initial assumption is, however, that the wrong coordinates were fed to the artillery unit.
Really? Hmm.. for a technologically and morally advanced army, they sure are making quite a few ‘mistakes’, aren’t they?
Haaretz newspaper has good coverage of the attack [link], but I was amused [if this is a word that may be used in this context] to read one poster commenting on the news item saying: “I am deeply sorry for the civilians killed, but do not blame us. It’s the rockets. Return Shalit and stop the rockets.” Say that to the 6 year old or the 4 year old.
Peace? what peace? what negotiations? who exactly are we kidding? The reason for this most recent attacks is probably that Israel is beginning to feel the heat. It needs to eliminate as many Palestinians as it can before Bush’s reign of terror is over. And it is doing a real good job of it.

كيف نواجه هذا العدوان الجديد؟ لماذا يصمت العالم ثم يقوم فى يوم ليدين القتل ثم يسكت مرة ثانية إلى أن تبدأ المجزرة التالية؟ إلى متى يظل يقتل الفلسطينيين هكذا وهو الشعب الأعزل والذى تم عزله عن العالم فى سجن مسيج أسمه غزة؟ عن أى سلام نتحدث؟ وأية مفاوضات سلام؟
