Egyptian soldiers kill Sudanese refugees at Israeli border –

Posted by hakawi on August 4, 2007

Egyptian soldiers shot and beat to death four presumed Sudanese refugees who were trying to illegally cross the border into Israel, a local television station reported Thursday.”

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said last month that he and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak had reached an understanding that all ‘infiltrators’ crossing the border would be apprehended by the military and sent back to Egypt.

Egypt had also agreed to work to prevent further infiltrations, Olmert said.

In late July, reports said an Egyptian military unit shot and killed a female Sudanese refugee as she and others tried to cross the border into Israel. [link]

Can I comment? Yes of course I can, but I don’t want to. This is sickening and filthy! Perhaps if one day we respect ourselves, others will have some respect for us as well. Don’t you think?

bomb mecca: after all, it’s a bomb fest ضرب مكة ؟

Posted by hakawi on August 3, 2007

tomthumb.jpgSolution: bomb Mecca and Medina – or rather threaten to do so – as a deterrent to radicals. This is what happened today in a vote in the House, presented by some maniac congressman from Colorado by the name of Tom Tancredo. The Congressman said that “he doesn’t want to attack Mecca and Medina, but believes the threat to do so — with conventional rather than nuclear bombs — is the only effective deterrent against Muslim radicals willing to die for their faith.”.

Incidentally, he is a Republican President-Wanna-Be. The House naturally voted against it, but the interesting thing is how this kind of mentality can come to play in a serious venue. Instead of looking for ways to reach out and make peace, some seem to be enjoying – and benefiting – from the ever-rekindled fires. And instead of winning over the 1.4 billion Muslims in the world to help fight the radical few, this congressman and people of his ilk want to outrage, enrage and militarize the remaining 1.4 billion against Americans.

Everyone seems to be upping the ante.. who will bomb whom faster and more furiously when elected. So Obama and Billary both say they would bomb Pakistan and Iran respectively, whereas the Republicans would bomb Mecca and Medina and Iran and others. And the Islamist radicals themselves? they want to bomb everybody. Hey.. it’s a bomb fest. Everyone wants to bomb everyone else. And we are all sitting here … Helpless in the Middle…

illegal to oppose the war: an executive order

Posted by hakawi on August 1, 2007

Is this really happening in America? Is anyone even aware that this passed? Why wasn’t it in the media?

A presidential Executive Order has been issued 17 July entitled “Blocking Property of Certain Persons Who Threaten Stabilization Efforts in Iraq“. This  Order provides the President with the “authority to confiscate the assets of  “certain persons” who oppose the US led war in Iraq”:

“I have issued an Executive Order blocking property of persons determined to have committed, or to pose a significant risk of committing, an act or acts of violence that have the purpose or effect of threatening the peace or stability of Iraq or the Government of Iraq or undermining efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq or to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people.”

According to Prof. Michel Chossudovsky of Global Research, the implications are as follows:

The Executive Order criminalizes the antiwar movement. It is intended to  “blocking property” of  US citizens and organizations actively involved in the peace movement. It allows the Department of Defense to interfere in financial affairs and instruct the Treasury to “block the property” and/or confiscate/ freeze the assets of “Certain Persons” involved in antiwar activities. It targets those “Certain Persons” in America, including civil society organizations, who oppose the Bush Administration’s “peace and stability” program in Iraq, characterized, in plain English, by an illegal occupation and the continued killing of innocent civilians. no end in sight: stuff happens

Posted by hakawi on August 1, 2007

No End in Sight is  a war documentary that just opened last week in movie theaters across the US. The documentary chronicles the reasons behind Iraq’s descent into guerilla war, warlord rule, criminality and anarchy, through interviews with US officials as well as eye-witness accounts from both the US and Iraq.

It is a powerful documentary that “NO END IN SIGHT dissects the people, issues and facts behind the Bush Administration’s decisions and their consequences on the ground to provide a powerful look into how arrogance and ignorance turned a military victory into a seemingly endless and deepening nightmare of a war. “

Watch the trailer below and view the movie’s website.

What is it like to carry your daughter with blood covering her, and you lift her up and she has no legs?

Salee lost her legs .. and friends … when an American missile hit her home. She is now in California getting prosthetic legs, thanks to those Americans with a sense of moral justice.. who know what this administration has done to people like Salee.
