fraudulent zeitgeist – and the creation of an uninformed public

Zeitgeist, which means ’spirit of the time’ – a method of looking at society in a particular period or time – a description of trends and opinions, especially as it relates to the intellect, morality and opinions.

And it is the name of Peter Joesph’s documentary – released in June 2007. As he himself notes ‘It is my hope that people will not take what is said in the film as the truth, but find out for themselves, for truth is not told, it is realized’. And in this context, the name implies a prevention of ‘critical thinking’, while giving us a ‘continuing flow of fraudulent zeitgeist which consists of religion, mass media, and education’ because there is nothing more dangerous than ‘an informed public’.

I must say that the introduction is really really unnecessarily lengthy, and the whole issue of how ‘religion is based on old myths’ idea throughout the entire first half of this two hour documentary is totally needless, the documentary is exceptionally well researched and worth watching.

This is not another Truth 911 conspiracy theory documentary, but rather a well researched documentary that spans from the beginning of times and how religion has traditionally controlled societies, then walks us through the World Wars, depression and recession periods, to 911 and beyond. The documentary tackles issues such as world control through the banking system, the debt society, technology and embedded chips, then moves us into some pretty unchartered territories such as the recent signing of a deal between Canada, the US and Mexico that the news media has mentioned in passing, and the unification of currency between them to produce the ‘amero’ which is the equivalent of the euro [The Media is almost oblivious to this amero and the signing of the open borders, with the exception of paranoid Lou Dobbs who mentioned it because he is a 'border freak' and advocate of closed borders].
While this in and of itself may not seem significant, the video ends with an eerie and alarming note, stating that we are moving towards the one world government system whether we like it or not, and that it remains to be seen whether its leader will be one of our choice or one forced upon us. What is truly alarming is the fact that it is is us who are choosing to move towards this path – choosing not because of freedom, but choosing because we have been brainwashed into making those choices.

But let me just say an aside – that the very concept of one world government is a Biblical concept that explains it as part of the end of times.

If you can make it through the first lengthy quarter of the film, you will enjoy this video – now published on Google’ videos. It is indeed alarming.

to those who take freedom for granted

While the name sounds cliche and overused, this MSNBC documentary is worth seeing. You may view it all as one part – and it is 2 hours long [posted below], or you may just view the parts you want because it is divided into 5 different segments: There’s a spy in your car [about GPS systems]; Big Brother: Cellphone record snooping; Searching through your Google Searches; Big Brother is big business; an finally ‘Surveillance society’ has risks, benefits. This is a gift to those who take freedom for granted.

the destruction of the tapes

Two issues came to mind when I heard about the destruction of the CIA tapes of the torture of Gitmo prisoners:

1.  the disaster: another major scandal is breaking
2. the good news: America continues to have  checks and balances. They are still working. Till now.

I was listening to reports on the scandal and someone said that it is good to have the tapes destroyed because they would anger the ‘Arabs just like they were angered at the Abu Ghraib pictures’ and would make it very difficult for us to win their hearts and minds.’

Err…. hearts and minds? are you freaking serious that this is how you would win their ‘hearts and minds’? AGAIN?

On the checks and balances point – well… this is good. We still have watchdogs who will speak out against corruption and against wrong-doing. We still have courageous people who will stand for the truth, who will reject torture methods and who will stand up for human rights. May we all continue to do so – in spite of the dark times we are looking into ahead of us – because perhaps those dark times are just some smoke that makes us unable to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

despicable criminality by no other name

The school ran out of hearing-aid batteries in September due to Israeli import restrictions. Now they rely solely on sign language, which makes it difficult, if not impossible, to acquire the spoken language… The Israeli government is increasingly restricting the import into the Gaza Strip of batteries, anesthesia drugs, antibiotics, tobacco, coffee, gasoline, diesel fuel and other basic items, including chocolate and compressed air to make soft drinks. But this is the ‘peace’ deal that they went with to Annapolis – a ‘peace’ to quiet the doubters about such atrocities and others including an immediate frantic buildup of settlements yet again, and then when the Palestinians object, they are blamed for ‘obstructing peace’ and ‘rejecting peace’.

This is a crime by no other name.

How will history judge us for tolerating this man in office? So what is he? Completely stupid, mentally ill, or really evil? Maybe it’s a kind of cocktail

Indeed… no one is more accountable for the presence of this man in office as ‘we the people’ and ‘them the congress’ – those lame people who have proven that not only do they have little power, but whatever power they have they fail to use because they are chicken [with very very few exceptions].

الأستاذ سليم العوا كان على قناة الجزيرة من أسبوعين كده بيقول إن كله تمام بين الأقباط والمسلمين وإنه مش فاهم مالهم المسيحيين يعنى؟ وقال كمان إن المسلمين ما بيكونش عندهم مشكلة لما واحدى بتتحول للمسيحية لكن شوفوا اللى حصل لما وفاء قسطنطين إتحولت للإسلام والدنيا قامت وماقعدتش. بل وكمان أضاف الأخ العوا إنه شوفوا إزاى لما أخذوا وفاء ما قلناش حاجة خالص وسيبناهم ياخدوها ولا الدنيا قامت ولا قعدت لأن المسألة عادى خالص.

وبالمناسبة, إيه حكاية الأخت اللطيفة الجميلة حنان ترك اللى بتقول مافيش مسيحيين يروحوا محل الكوافير؟ هى يعنى لو كانت قالت كوافير محجبات كان فيه مسيحيات هيروحوا أصلا؟
